Almond Cookies


The list of ingredients:- 

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour.
  • 1 stick  butter at room temperature
  • 2/3 cup caster sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons    gram flour
  • 2  tablespoons  fine semolina
  • 1/2  teaspoon  vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon yogurt
  • 1/4 cup milk

The preparation method:- 

  1. In a bowl whisk powdered sugar,butter and vanilla extract, until  its texture is creamy, set aside.
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  3. Add the butter and sugar mixture to flour mixture together and knead into a dough.
  4. The dough should be soft and a little sticky, if needed sometimes,I do add a little bit more flour if too sticky or a teaspoon of yogurt if its dry.
  5. Preheat oven to 300 F.
  6. Form medium sized balls of dough, these should be shiny and crack free.
  7. Press in the middle of each ball with your fingertip and  place a walnut or almond on it, using well beaten egg as glue.
  8. Place each cookie ball 3 inches apart on a cookie sheet and bake for 16 to 18 mins.
  9. Serve them hot with chai or let the cookies cool off completely on wire rack before storing in an air tight jar.
